There is something about Lavender that calms the soul and rejuvenates the senses. Early Saturday morning Karamea and I woke to participate in a 5k Lavender Run at Young Living Farms in Mona, Utah. For some it was a run, for us it was a brisk walk. What a beautiful adventure this was!
I drove into the parking lot at 6:40, stepped out of the car and took a deep breath. The aroma of Lavender, Clarity Sage and other satisfying scents were all around. Immediately I knew that the drive to northern Utah, waking at 5:00 on a Saturday morning and searching for a parking space was well worth the undertaking. We were among 700 registrants who would all experience the exhilaration of what was to come.
Karamea and I took our place almost at the back of all the participants. We began our brisk walk under overcast skies and cool morning tempuratures. We stopped to take pictures and water breaks along the way. Almost near the end we were stopped by a camera crew from Cornerstone Technologies and asked to be the talent in a promotional video they were producing. We abilged and took our places among the rows of Lavender.
We strolled the property, ate Lavender ice cream and cut our share of Lavender to take home. I will wait for it to dry and then make Lavender bags to be used as a cold or warm compress for headaches and stress relief.
Oh what a joy this event was for me. I will make it tradition for my future.

BACK OUT
Working out is really an important part of my existence. I quite enjoy it. Except last night...I popped my coccyx or somewhere close to it. I am feeling tons of pain and I waddle like a pregnant woman. When I sit and stand I look like a pregnant woman. It brings back really unpleasant memories.
Ice is helpful as are the essential oils. Aging really sucks!

TWENTY FOUR HOURS LATER
I kind of overdid it at the gym last night. I guess I had a little bit too much energy stored up and had to work it off. Thirty minutes on the elliptical, fourty five minutes on the machines and fourty five minutes in the pool...I am feeling the pain. Even the hot tub is too far away to get too. This will take a few days of recovery.
What was I thinking?

WINNING WORKOUT
I'm 2 weeks into my Face 2 Face work out program and I'm already feeling muscle tone! That's because I only stopped working out for a short period of time and muscle wasn't all the way gelled.
Gene Trombetti is the General Manager at The Summit. He says I should talk up my workout on the radio tomorrow. I told him "there's too many weirdos out there and I can't let people know where I work out." He says he'll be my bodyguard and bounce out the weirdos.
That makes me smile.

Just Another Day
I hit the ground running at 6am this morning. Fold the laundry, check emails, stretch achy bones, read a few lines to jump start my brain, empty dishwasher, start breakfast, wake kids...and so on. One by one I drove kids to school then to work then ended up at work myself.
Work...so many demands, so much to do. Phones ringing, emails to respond to, conversations with colleagues. Then it's afternoon. The kids are out of school.
The most blustery day of the winter, everyone needs a ride. Run away from work, pick up children and drive them home. Run a couple of errands for work then back to work.
More emails to respond to, more projects to work on...6:00...Karamea needs a ride.
Home at last...relax...are you kidding...it's just the changing of the hats.
Now I'm the mom...laundry...household chores...prepare dinner. Everyone leaves for the gym and I realize...
I will only make it to the gym if I wake up at 4:30am and start my workout at 5:00. So that's my new goal. Not tomorrow...I'll be on the radio...but on Wednesday I'll go to the gym at 4:45a and get my body back in shape.

Gellin' In My Jeans
That is a wrong statement! My excuse...winter. When I get home from work it's cold and dark outside . I put on my sweats wrap up in a blanket and spend the evening lounging. But today I'm wearing my jeans...and...yes the fly still zips and the button still buttons...but I'm gellin annnnd it's gross. Sooooo today I'm going back to my gym to find a personal trainer who will kick my butt and force me back to muscle and tone. But, I'm not giving up chocolate...
